The Power To Change Your Mindset
“Science has shown us beyond the shadow of a doubt that what we think, feel and believe determines our reality and, ultimately, our life experience. Our response and our creative approach to this new experience of the Coronavirus pandemic will have everything to do with how we as a people transcend the fear and concern and become more of who we truly are: Healers and Creators. We must empower ourselves because of this, not in spite of this time.”
~Dr. Sue Morter, author of “The Energy Codes
History shows us that after periods of great hardship in our world often comes great advancement. For example, many historians believe that the Bubonic Plague helped overturn outmoded beliefs, social structures and ways of living, forcing people to rely more on their own reasoning abilities and inner wisdom.
The result was one of the greatest epochs of art, architecture, science and literature in human history, the great Renaissance!
I see this time in history as a great opportunity for us to learn to believe in ourselves and rely on ourselves and create the things we really came here to create.
I do understand that many people are suffering greatly because of these circumstances and that there is a lot of fear among us at this time.
The important thing is to manage our mindset. If we don’t like the way we are feeling, we have the power to change it and in changing it, instantly raise our vibration. This of itself contributes to the raising of the consciousness of the collective.
If you‘re not used to managing your mindset, the first thing is to monitor it. When you notice that you are feeling less than good, notice what you’re thinking. Then say to yourself, “I have the power to change these feeling and thoughts in this moment.”
Begin by noticing your breath. Is it shallow and high or is it deep and slow? Begin to consciously relax your belly Let it hang out over your belt. Let it stick out as big as you can. Now breathe into it, letting a little more breath fill your belly each time. On each
out-breath let all of the air out pulling your navel to your spine.
If at times, during this, you feel the need to breathe up higher into your lungs, go ahead and do so. It’s awkward at first. We are well-trained to hold our stomachs in. And yet belly breathing is so beneficial. You are breathing into the sacral chakra, the womb chakra, one of the chakras that ground and nourish us. This chakra is also the center of our wisdom and creativity.
Take at least 10 slow breaths into your belly and as you breathe out, pull your navel to the spine.
Pause. Notice how you feel. Then, ask yourself, “How would I like to feel?” and then, “What thoughts, memories or activity will give me that feeling?” It may be thoughts of someone you love or the memory of something that made you happy or thoughts of something that you love to do. Use your creative imagination to create what you want to experience.
Breathe into your belly some more as you wait for your answer. Then choose and think about and feel what you want to, as you take a few more belly breaths to intensify and anchor your new empowering thoughts and feelings.
Note: Sometimes, we have deeply charged feelings and extremely hard circumstances that will require a different approach.
Meanwhile, keep working on your belly breaths. It’s so worth it!
