We Don’t Have To Wait For the World to Change

There is so much division in our world right now. Nobody seems to want to even listen to the other. There seems to be an over-abundance of righteousness, anger and need for revenge, even among those who claim to be spiritual, which is odd to me, for as far as I can tell, all the major religions of the world teach love and forgiveness, not blame, hatred and revenge.
Joran Slane Oppelt, author of Integral Church names 15 great principles shared by all religions. Here are just a few:
• Love Thy Neighbor / Conquer With Love / All You Need is Love ~ ….allow love for our fellow man to become an abiding part of your life. Love is a unifying force.
• Blessed Are the Peacemakers ~ When we see…a close kinship between all individuals and nations, peace is the natural result.
• You Reap What You Sow ~ …all are ruled by this inevitable law of nature.
• There is But One God / God is Love ~ Whatever name man chooses, there is but one God. All people and all things are of one essence.
• Forgiveness ~ The most beautiful thing a man can do is to forgive wrong. – Judaism
I know there are wonderful people in our world who live from their hearts and not their pocketbooks and if you are reading this, I know you are one of them.
But on the surface, it looks pretty black and white out there. It is said that, he who speaks first and he who speaks loudest is coming from the ego. I know. I’ve been there. I’ve researched until I was blue in the face. Felt sure I was right. I’ve been righteous and angry. I’ve been overwhelmed and disgusted. I’ve held onto one view and then the other, each time feeling sure I was right.
What I am learning is that, in the final analysis, I don’t really know what is going on at this time in history on this earth and the more rabbit holes I go down the worse I feel.
One thing I feel sure about right now, though is that things are not always as they seem. And what I know in my heart of hearts is that ultimately, I am the one who controls my outcomes. The scriptures of the world all tell us this ~ “You reap what you sow.” So, I have decided to focus on that instead of trying to figure out who’s right and who’s wrong in this chaotic scramble.
“Once you begin to understand and master your thoughts and feelings, that’s when you see how to create your own reality.” ~Marci Shimoff
What a relief. I no longer have to help “save the world.” I can leave it to those who are here at this time in history to do that. I only have to live my highest truth. At my core, I am a being of light and I only have to keep growing into that and leading with love and service. My role is to speak my authentic voice, what I personally know to be true and that’s what my covenant is about. There are others who are cleaning up and holding accountability. That is not mine.
We don’t have to wait for the world to change. We can grow and evolve ourselves. We can lead the way by cultivating unconditional love and service to others. For love, forgiveness and service make up and an unfailing recipe for happiness! And as we raise our vibration, we raise that of those around us.
