Finding Peace in The Face of Uncertainty
Underneath all of our traumas and hardships, there has always been that peaceful place inside that is unwavering no matter what is going on outside of us.
It is our true nature, joy and light and just presence that lets us know that we are okay. We need access to that place now more than ever before, as all manner of things are coming at us. Our world has been turned upside down and our future seems more uncertain than ever. And yet, all the while, this highest reality is sublime, calm, all-knowing and all-protecting.
This is the place we must go to over and over. We all have ways of going there and taking refuge in the constancy of our True Nature. It may be through prayer, nature, spiritual teachings, music, creative endeavor, whatever brings us into our inner light and wisdom. My personal favorite is meditation.
I think we all know on some level that this place exists and is always there to support us, no matter what the fickle mind is telling us.
Which will win, our egoic mind which is selfish and fearful or our inner wisdom, which has always known in our heart of hearts that we are fine, we are guided, we are protected and that our true nature is peace, joy and happiness? Maybe it seems like a tall order to go there with all this craziness going on around us.
And yet, if we are to rise up to the next level of our evolution, we have to believe in ourselves and who we are at our core! We have all been through so much and yet we’ve come out okay. Sometimes we’ve come through with faith and courage and sometimes we’ve been dragged or even carried through.
We have so much more power than we know. It has been hidden from view for so long. Now is the time for us to reach down deep and pull up that power. To trust that we have what it takes to get through this and grow from it and help others do the same. To have the faith that something wonderful is waiting on the other side.
“There is so much happening behind the scenes. It is forward movement at an accelerated pace and it can make us a little bit seasick.” ~Amanda Ellis
This is a time we need to ground ourselves and take refuge in what we know is constant and reliable.
I think the most powerful thing we can do right now for ourselves and the planet is to stay in the higher frequencies of Peace and Love. We do have the choice to change our mindset at any moment that we choose. Yes, it takes discipline. But with strong intention, it can be done.

In meditation the other day, I heard a message, You have a golden opportunity. You have the time and the space. Why do you keep making other things more important than being with your True Self?
In contemplating this message for a few days, I got a delightful surprise! I am encouraged to:
~Take myself less seriously
~Slow down and get out of the egoic need to get things done
~Have more fun
~Make that massage appointment just as important as anything else on my list
~Give myself permission to stare at a bug and have compassion for him instead of getting on with my pruning
~Look for the grace of the Divine in all things small and large.
In other words, find ways to be in the present moment more, for that is where we find this deepest truest part of ourselves, always waiting to let us know that everything is alright. And as Eckhart Tolle says, “Stillness is where creativity and solutions to problems are found.” And I will add, “Not in fear and worry!”
